ICOPR

The Power of Music

The International Chamber Orchestra of Puerto Rico connects children and communities of Puerto Rico with music. Internationally renowned artists from across the world come together each year for a two week festival, giving free performances and master classes across Puerto Rico.

The Challenge

The ICOPR came to DREAM for a website that would capture the energy of the orchestra and the focus of their objectives:  to increase access to arts & education for marginalized communities; promote social well-being; cultivate new audiences; and nurture young artists.

Our Approach

We began by getting to know the brand and Emilio and Cara Colon, the founders of the ICOPR. Their energy and passion for their work was easy to see and our strategy was to use images and video to translate that energy to the digital world. Artists, performances, sponsorship and schedules change every year so we also needed to develop a design that is driven by layouts that allow for quick updates.

We believe in the power of music.

We must all work to make the world worthy of its children.

Fluid design for last minute changes.

Preparing for the ICOPR festival each year includes adding new artists, performance dates and details, and sponsors. New information comes in quickly and changes often need to be made within hours of receiving it. Not a problem! Anticipating this, we built out a strategy for easy updates by creating templated page designs that allow us to easily add/remove artists and/or change the order of content by dragging and dropping.

To improve the user experience and streamline performance information and updates, we installed an Events Calendar with options to add images, addresses, and promote that the concerts are free.

Video was important to the ICOPR brand so we incorporated it throughout the site, keeping in mind that everything is fluid and may need to move.

This dynamic group is ever changing and the website is in constant motion too, growing with them throughout the years.

Solving the Identity Crisis

Fresh colors and white space provide a dynamic backdrop creating easy to read pages with energy that draws a user in engaging them to learn more about this exciting organization.

It’s not just about being pretty, it’s about being smart. Hierarchy and content were planned for users to be able to quickly navigate and find the information they need. Page speeds were tested against the latest Google release and best practices were used to optimize scores.

We don’t settle.

So why should you? Aim for the stars, bb.
